Lesson: Deleting files

Quick ways to delete files:

Part 1:  Delete files Using Windows Search

  1. Find/Files and Folders search tool located by clicking the Start button.
  2. When search dialog box appears, in the name box type:
    " *.qlt ", without the quotes. to search for Quilts.
    " *.blk", without the quotes. to search for Blocks
    " *.bor" without the quotes. to search for Borders
  3. The look in box should say C:\

Note: The * symbol (located above the number 8 key) is a
wildcard that allows Windows to locate all files with the file extension qlt, for example.

  1. Then click Find now, all the files will appear in the search box below.
  2. Locate the files you wish to delete, highlight the file name and right click on it.
  3. From the menu, choose Delete.

Note: If you delete the wrong file, go to the recycle bin
and restore the file to it’s original position.
