Q. Will my Foundation Factory programs work in the new operating system?
Q. Will my Foundation Factory programs work in Lion, operating system ?
Yes, Foundation Factory will work on any Intel Based operating system, which includes OS 10.6 and above. Once you install the update, open the program named Foundation Factory 3. If you have older versions installed and you have just upgraded to any of these OS versions you can find updates here:
Once you install the update, open the program named Foundation Factory 3.
Please note: that you may be required to re-enter your Foundation Factory serial numbers after updating the program. Be sure to have all your serial numbers handy or you will not be able to use the Foundation Factory 3 application file.
If you cannot locate your serial numbers, email tech support to request them. Be sure to include the name, address, and email address you used when purchasing the programs. In addition, we MUST know the name of the Foundation Factory Edition you purchased. One way to tell is to open Application folder, then open the Foundation Factory "Blocks" folder. All the installed programs will be listed. Send us the complete name of the program you need a serial number for.
Q. After installing Foundation Factory, I can’t see any blocks. What happened?
To fix this, you need to be logged into an admin account.

Q. What is the version of Foundation Factory?
Here is how to check. Go to the Foundation Factory menu at the top left of the screen. Click on About Foundation Factory. The version number should be shown in small letters by the Foundation Factory graphic.
Q. I want to use the blocks from Foundation Factory in Quilt-Pro, how do I do that?
A. We have a program called File Manager that will allow you to import those blocks into Quilt-Pro 5 for Mac.
In order to reduce the size of the download, the File manager file is compressed as a zip file. Please click the link below and download the file to your desktop; once downloaded double click the zip file to open it and you should see the File Manager.
Double click the File Manager to start it.
Follow the onscreen instructions. When it’s complete, you should have a copy of the blocks in the QP5 Block library in a folder named for the edition you imported:
If you have any of the other Foundation Factory programs it will give you the option to add those to Quilt-Pro as well.
Please note: do not select Quilt-Pro 5 in the screen labeled "Programs to copy from" only select it in "Destination Program selection."
