Answers:
Q1. When I use the Irish Chain block, the "OOPS" button clears all of the fabric on the block.
This is different from how it works with other blocks. Why?
A1. The problem isn't with the program but with the block. The
Irish chain block was layered over itself and that is what is creating the problem. You
may download the corrected block by clicking here.
Q2. When I use the
Nose Gay block, the Rotary Chart is missing some of the patches. Why?
A2. The problem isn't with the program but with the block. There was a mistake made when we drew the block and that is what is creating the problem. You
may download the corrected block by clicking here.
Q3. I am not able to download
fabrics from the "quiltstash.com" web site. It seems that I am doing
everything right, but when I go back into the program, the new collection does not show up
in the fabrics or palettes. Why?
A3. Locate the file you downloaded and double click it. You
will get the option to change the directory path to install the files. The path should
read C:\Program Files\123-Quilt instead of C:\Program Files\QuiltPro3. Very soon
there should be files there specifically for the 123quilt program.
Q4. Does the 1-2-3 Quilt program allow you to scan in fabrics like the Quilt pro does?
A4. No, because in 1-2-3 Quilt! you can not create fabric
palettes. However, you may download fabrics from www.quiltstash.com.
Q5. Will 1-2-3 Quilt! allow for import of blocks from the Foundation
Factories or the new Kansas City Star disks.
A5. No, the program does not allow you to move to other
directories to open files. In addition, many of the files in Kansas City Star are applique
blocks, which will not work in 1-2-3 Quilt!
Q6. I have 1-2-3 Quilt! and QuiltPro. The 123 Quilt!
manual says I can export a 123
Quilt file into QuiltPro but there are no directions about how to do it. And my
QuiltPro program says I cannot import anything from any other Windows program. Help!
A6. Export was probably the wrong word to use in this
instance. What we meant to say is you can "open" any block or quilt from
123-Quilt in Quilt Pro.
Use Quilt Pro's Browser's Explorer Pane to locate the blocks
and quilts in the 123-Quilt directory (scroll up from the Quilt Pro directory until you
see 123-Quilts). It has the same structure as the Quilt Pro directory. Then drag and drop
the patterns into the window as you would with the library blocks.
Q7. I initially installed 123 Quilt without the
fabric. Now, the program comes up every time someone
turns on the computer.
A7. To remove a program from the Start or Programs menu
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Taskbar &
Start Menu.
- Click the Start Menu Programs tab.
- Click Remove, and then locate the program you want to remove
in the Startup Folder.
- Click the program, and then click Remove.
Notes
·Although this deletes the shortcut from the Start menu, the original program remains on
your computer.
·Click Advanced if you want to move a program's shortcut by using Windows Explorer.
If you do not have a 123Quilt icon on your Desktop, you should move the Icon from the
Start menu to another program folder.
Q8. I trying to print rotary cutting instructions for the
plain alternate block and for the side triangles in a diagonal setting.
A8. At the moment 123-Quilt can not print Rotary Cutting instructions for either item.
Here is the information you will need for those items using a 9" block size as an example:
For the 9" alternate block, cut the squares 9.5" (The finished size of the block plus 1/2")
For the side triangles use Quarter-square triangles, cut the Squares 10.25" then cut 4 Triangles
from one square. (The finished size of the block plus 1.25") (Use Quarter Square triangles to get
the long side of the triangle on the grain line.)
