Q1. Do I need Quilt Pro to use Block Factory?

Q1. Do I need Quilt Pro to use Block Factory?
A1. No it's a stand alone program which will allow you to size and
print any of the patterns in the program.
Q2. Can Block Factory be used with a Macintosh?
A2. At the moment we do not have a Mac version of the Block Factory.
However, the block files themselves are compatible with Quilt Pro version 3 for the
Mac. In addition, if you use a PC emulator you may use the program on your
Macintosh.
Q3. I purchased Block Factory. I can't find the serial number to get into the program. It asks me for a
number and I don't think I have one, help?
A3. The serial numbers are usually listed in the inside of the CD
jacket but in case there isn't one just contact us by phone or email and we will supply you with one.
Q4. In the Goodies file under Judy's Tips for Constructing
Mariner's Compass blocks, it says to "Click here to link to this article"
but alas, there is no link to activate. Why?
A4. There does seem to be link missing from that file. Click here to get a corrected copy of that file.
Q5. I've loaded the screen saver but cannot figure out how to activate it. Help.
A5. The screensaver should have been set up as the default and
will come on after a period of inactivity. That period of inactivity is set by the
user, but I think the default is about 15 minutes. To see a preview, right click on
the desktop. Choose Properties, then click on the Screensaver tab. You should
see a The screensaver listed as Mariners Compass Quilts. Click the Preview button
without moving the mouse. Moving the mouse will stop the preview.
Q6. I followed your instructions for testing the screen saver, but it's not in the list of screen savers. What now?
A6. There is a possibility that the initial install failed. Find
the following file on the CD and double click it to install the screensaver. The
file name is: MarCompassScrSaver.exe
Q7. I tried to run Block Factory from the CD,
but was unable to even open it.
A7. There must be a problem with the Icon. Delete the Icon
on your desktop and we'll create a new one. Insert the CD in the CD Drive, then
Close or minimize all programs and have the desktop showing.
- From the Windows Start button, select Find.
- From the fly out menu, select Files or Folders. The Find Files dialog box
appears.
- In the Named box, type in FoundationFactory95.exe and select the drive where Foundation
Factory is installed. (the default installation for Foundation Factory is in the C
drive. Since you are using Block Factory from the CD then choose the CD drive
letter.
- Click the Find Now button. The search will locate the application file.
- Use your right mouse button on the file and select Click Create Shortcut.
- You may get an message saying "Can not create shortcut here. Place short cut
on the Desktop instead?" Click the yes or Ok button.
- The shortcut appears on your desktop.
- Double click the icon to start the program.
That should do it for you.
Q8. I tried to print out the Mariners Compass help file but the text
is coming out jibberish, why?
A8. The browser used for the Help files may be using a font not
available to your printer. I have created a PDF file for you to use to print the help
files. Just click the link and the document will open in your Internet Browser and
allow you to print the files. Click here to see

possible. Include information about your computer system. Things such
as RAM available, color palette used in your video display, Operating System you use. (ie:
win95 etc...) and your Block Factory serial number.
